Adventure skiing in Champoluc and the Monterosa ski area

The Monterosa valley is a thrill-seekers paradise when it comes to adventure skiing. A hidden gem among the heart of the alps, Monterosa has long been a favourite for skiers from all over the world who come for the challenging off-piste terrain and the chance to ski the descents of 2,500 metres. The recently improved lift system has made access to the off-piste even easier and the trickier parts can be accessed by helicopter for a real taste of adventure. The stunning scenery and vast range of routes really does make Champoluc and Monterosa an ideal place for adventure and free-ride skiing.

Ski Touring and Ski Safari

We are pleased to have teamed up with ‘Mindful Mountains‘ whom offer a number of adventure trips.  Ski touring, Safari tours and Mindful skiing weeks throughout the season, all based from Champoluc.  If you are an intermediate skier, or more competent,  the Safari Tours offer a real insight into the Monterosa Ski arena. The week starts in Cervinia and moves through Champoluc, Gressoney and ends in Alagna, skiing is mostly off piste and a vehicle transports luggage between the hotel accommodation.

Good quality mountain Refuge accommodation is abundant in the Monterosa, making it a perfect location for Ski Touring.  They make the most of the high-altitude skiing conditions with touring weeks in April, suitable for less and more experienced ski tourers.

John Arnold also runs some Mindful Skiing weeks where you can improve your skiing through awareness, mind control and focusing attention – an intriguing inner adventure into how mind and emotions affect skiing and enjoyment.
